Select a product to find out more information.Sea Marshall Maritime Survivor Locating System (MSLS) - a range of alerting units and base units - enable users to create a self-managed man overboard rescue system for a wide range of maritime applications, including commercial fishing and marine operations, offshore oil and gas, aquaculture, offshore wind farms, helicopter transit and commercial and leisure diving.
The systems comprise two elements:
- Alerting unit - a small personal transmitter worn by crew members
- Base unit - an installed receiver which receives communication from the alerting unit to raise the alarm, locate and track the person in distress
Sea Marshall products operate on the 121.5 MHz frequency - the international Search and Rescue (SAR) frequency. This enables SAR assest to assist with tracking and locating a casualty in the water if necessary.
Note however that the COSPAS-SARSAT satellite network ceased monitoring 121.5 MHz as of 1 February 2009 - Search and Rescue will NOT be automatically alerted if a Sea Marshall alerting unit is activated.
