Mobilarm Base Units

Part of the Sea Marshall Maritime Survivor Locating System (MSLS), Mobilarm base units continuously monitor the 121.5 MHz frequency and immediately detect the emergency signal from an activated Sea Marshall alerting unit. The base unit automatically sounds the alarm and provides crew with range and direction information to quickly locate and rescue a man overboard.

Mobilarm base units can interface with other onboard systems to automatically activate or deactivate devices when a man overboard alarm is raised, including

  • Engine shut-off
  • Activate auto-pilot
  • Turn on strobe light or siren

In a lone-worker environment, Mobilarm base units can be connected to an auto-dialer that will call up to 8 land lines or cell phones to call for help.

There are two types of base unit that can be installed on board a vessel or platform to monitor the 121.5 MHz frequency:

Mobilarm SARfinder

  • Automatic alarm and in-water tracking
  • Compass-style LED display indicates direction and approximate range of man overboard to enable self-managed rescue
  • Portable model also available

Mobilarm Portable SARfinder

  • Mobile monitoring and tracking base unit, ideal for use on daughter vessels or Fast Rescue Craft
  • Supplied in waterproof holdall, complete with antenna

Mobilarm Crewguard

  • Automatic alarm and flashing LED man overboard warning
  • Simple LED display indicates signal strength (near or far)
