Crewsafe V200 Submariner Maritime Survivor Locating Device
Locate and rescue following submarine escape or abandonment
Designed specifically for submariners, the Crewsafe V200 is worn with the SEIE suit to provide escaping submariners with the means to signal his position when he reaches the surface and therefore increase his chances of survival. The device transmits GPS position data via AIS, VHF DSC and VHF voice message to pinpoint the location (+/- 10m) of casualties following escape or abandonment.
One of the biggest risks of submarine escape is what happens when the escapees reach the surface. After evacuation or abandonment from a stricken submarine, survivors may be widely dispersed from their original escape/abandonment position and from each other.
Equipping submariners with the Crewsafe V200, which accurately transmits position data to incoming Search and Rescue forces, will greatly increase chances of recovery and survival.
How it Works
The Crewsafe V200 is set to STANDBY prior to exiting the submarine which enables it to automatically activate and begin transmissions when the submariner reaches the surface.
On reaching the surface, Crewsafe V200 activates, acquires GPS and transmits distress and position data in multi-system alerts. The Crewsafe V200 repeats transmissions at regular intervals for a minimum of 48 hours, so that approaching rescue forces can detect individual transmission data from all casualties on the surface.
