Mobilarm's Crewsafe V100 VHF DSC Locator Beacon addresses this need; it is specifically designed to improve the safety of the commercial marine workplace and reduce the loss of life of marine employees due to man overboard. With a Crewsafe V100 integrated with their lifejacket, your crew are in safe hands because knowing that there is an emergency within seconds of it occurring means that a rescue operation can be set in motion without delay. The Crewsafe V100 is water activated and transmits a man overboard distress alert directly to your VHF radio within seconds of a fall overboard. The device acquires a GPS lock and then transmits its position at regular intervals so you can track the casualty in the water. Any vessel in VHF range will also receive the distress alert, either on VHF DSC (Digital Selective Calling) or on channel 16 in a synthesised voice, maximising the number of people whoi can participate in the rescue immediately.
