Crewsafe Essentials

Crewsafe Essentials provides you with the minimum you need to create and operate a Crewsafe wireless network on board - a Crewsafe Display Console, two Crewsafe Tags and a Crewsafe Power Dock.

Mobilarm Crewsafe is a wireless network designed to improve the workplace safety of marine employees by keeping track of the crew at work at all times. A series of wireless routers creates a monitoring and reporting web that automatically detects emergencies involving personnel and can initiate a full-scale alert within seconds of an incident occurring, such as man overboard.

Each employee carries a small transceiver - a Crewsafe Tag - whose wireless signal keeps them connected to the network via the Crewsafe routers. The network immediately detects any break in the signal and will automatically raise the alarm if the connection is not re-established within a few seconds. Therefore, if a worker goes overboard, the signal is lost and the alarm is automatically raised. The Tag also features a duress button that can be manually activated if an employee is in distress but not in the water.

The protection provided by the technology is based on a fail-safe principle, meaning that any break in the signal, for any reason, raises an alarm. If the Tag is damaged, if its battery dies or if a person moves out of range of the network, the alarm is raised to ensure that co-workers are immediately aware of an emergency, an operational fault or that they have moved into an un-networked zone..

When installed on vessels, the Crewsafe® network can interface with existing navigation systems and GPS. In a man overboard (MOB) emergency, Crewsafe® automatically logs a waypoint on the vessel's chartplotter to mark when and where the incident occurred and provides the essential track back navigation data to that position. The system can report and track multiple events, but will always prioritise the more serious risk of man overboard over other emergencies.

With Crewsafe Essentials, creating a Crewsafe network couldn't be easier. Connect power to the Crewsafe Display Console and the Power Dock, turn on the Tags and a fully functional Crewsafe network is protecting crew immediately. If there are more people on board, add up to 10 more Tags to the network and if network coverage needs to be extended, add internal and external routers as required. All Crewsafe components are fully compatible and are easily configured to the Crewsafe network in situ.
